"Auf Matrosen Ohé!"

In cooperation with the Kilian Andersen publishing house & three amazing authors, I had the pleasure of illustrating the children's book Esmeralda Ahoi! - Schwamm drüber und hui. I did the character design, the cover, the endpapers, 12 full-page illustrations & over 60 small text-filling illustrations.

This was also my graduation project at FSG Freie Schule für Gestaltung 

The story of the girl Nieke who wants to go to Antarctica in search of her lost parents, takes place in summer on the houseboat Esmeralda. I therefore deliberately decided for a lot of leeway with the light - each illustrated scene should be as colourful & atmospheric as possible in order to best capture the character of the story.
